Brush Lettering Worksheets

Personally developed for my brush lettering workshops. It can be self-learned and contains the basics of brush lettering that can be expanded into exploring your own style, just like how we all have different handwritings. I hope that this would provide a foundational guide on where to start as you develop your own brush lettering style along the way that makes it personal for you!

INSTRUCTIONS:

1) Prepare a normal watercolour paint brush, any ink (sumi/watercolour/pen ink), or brush markers, as long as it has a flexible brush nib.

2) Follow through each page with its guided instructions:

– Up-strokes (thin), down-strokes (thick)

– Follow every stroke with its numbered sequence which is helpful for practicing

– Practicing each basic stroke will help with writing the alphabets and letters

– Complete the basics, lowercase, uppercase, and numbers

– Take a break and explore different brush lettering styles – feel free to search Pinterest for other different styles and try it out on a separate blank paper.

– Develop your own style – use the design tips, combining different fonts and decorations to make a composition on your own or with a reference.

– Get creative, have fun with it, and remember that practice makes progress and to only compare with your own journey! :)
